Minal Hajratwala is a poet, journalist and performance artist whose work has appeared in numerous publications and on stage in San Francisco and New York. In 2000-01 she is a fellow in the National Arts Journalism Program at Columbia University in New York City. She is the recipient of a Sundance Institute writing fellowship, a Pushcart Prize nomination, an artist's residency at the Jon Sims Center for the Performing Arts in San Francisco, and a writer's residency at Hedgebrook Cottages in Washington state. A graduate of Stanford University, she has been a newspaper editor for eight years in San Jose, California.
